No question, the best way to avoid the need for emergency dental treatment is an early diagnosis of potential oral health problems.

Dental Bridges

If you are missing teeth and notice strain while biting, having trouble speaking or chewing, bridges may be the ideal procedure to help your mouth healthy and beautiful. A bridge is a fixed dental restoration which is used to replace one or more missing teeth by joining an artificial tooth to existing teeth or dental implants. Bridges are unlike dentures, as it is not removable.

Children's Dentistry

At Sunlake Dental Care, our staff will teach your children how to practice good oral hygiene from a younger age. We teach our little clients the importance of brushing, flossing and the benefits of being seen by a dentist on a regular basis to have strong and healthy teeth.

Composite Filling

In the past, dental cavities were often treated with silver (amalgam) fillings, which are more noticeable in the mouth. Today, we use composite fillings that are carefully shaded to match the natural colour of your teeth, blending seamlessly for a more attractive, natural smile. Composite fillings not only restore the function of your tooth but also enhance its appearance; you can smile with confidence knowing your dental work is virtually invisible.

Dental Crowns

Crowns are a type of dental restoration which when cemented into place, fully covers that portion of tooth which lies at and above the gum line. In comparison, composite fillings/inlays/onlays are dental restorations that are used to fill in or cover over just a portion of a tooth. Since dental crowns encase the entire visible aspect of a tooth, a dental crown in effect becomes a tooth’s new outer surface.

Denture

A denture is a prosthetic that replaces missing teeth and gums as well as supports the cheeks and remaining mouth tissue. Dentures are removable, very natural looking and are very comfortable to wear with the new technological advances.

Dental Night Guards

There are several reasons you might need a dental night guard. Custom-made to fit your teeth, night guards are small, clear, and discreet, making them barely noticeable when worn. More importantly, they protect your teeth from the effects of grinding or clenching while you sleep, helping to prevent wear, fractures, and jaw discomfort while maintaining your natural smile.

Extraction

Tooth extraction is performed when a tooth is severely damaged and cannot be repaired, or if it has become very loose or infected due to advanced gum disease. In some cases, children may need one or more teeth removed if they are preventing the proper eruption of other teeth. Depending on the patient’s needs, an extraction may be a straightforward procedure done under local anesthesia or a surgical procedure for more complex cases, always with a focus on comfort and safety.

Gum Graft Treatment

Gum graft surgery is performed to correct the effects of gum recession, which occurs when gum tissue wears away and exposes more of the tooth’s root. This exposure can lead to sensitivity and, if left untreated, may increase the risk of tooth loss. Gum grafting helps protect exposed roots from damage and can also improve the appearance of your smile, restoring both health and aesthetics.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a great choice to prevent jaw bone loss as artificial tooth roots are used to support a restoration for missing tooth or teeth. The dental implant procedure is categorized as a form of prosthetic (artificial replacement) dentistry, but also is considered a form of cosmetic dentistry.

Invisalign

Invisalign® is a clear, removable alternative to traditional metal or ceramic braces. These custom-made aligners gradually straighten your teeth while allowing you to eat, brush, and floss with ease. Please book a consultation with our professional team to explore your treatment options and find the best solution for your smile.

Root Canal Treatment

Many people believe that removing a problematic tooth is the best solution. However, extraction can lead to other issues, such as reduced chewing efficiency and shifting of surrounding teeth.

To save an infected but otherwise healthy tooth, root canal treatment involves thoroughly cleaning the inside of the tooth and sealing it with a special filling material. The tooth is then restored with a filling and, in many cases, a protective crown, allowing it to function normally again.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth can become discoloured over time due to age, certain foods and drinks, or tobacco use. With professional whitening (bleaching) treatments, our dentist or hygienist can help brighten your smile. However, not all types of discolouration respond to whitening, so we recommend a consultation to determine the best option for you.
